Politically, ‘Aam Aadmi’ means common man who have no interest in politics but have the power to vote and elect their representative. ‘Khaas Aadmi’ means those who have interest in politics and desire to participate in governance as representative of people. But Arvind Kejriwal has given different meaning to these two terms. As per him ‘Aam Aadmi’ is one who wants to work honestly and live peacefully. ‘Khaas Adami’ is one who wants to work dishonestly and is the main cause for the unhappiness of ‘Aam Aadmi’. His fight is against ‘khaas Aadmi’ and he wants to give ‘Aam Aadmi’ a role in the governance of the country. He drew people from common man who were generally unknown and showed how easy is to defeat ‘Khaas Aadmi’ who politicians of all hue and colour are. This new definition given to ‘Aam Aadmi’ & degrading ‘Khaas Aadmi’ has sent all political parties in jitters. They all see in Arvind Kejriwal’s doctrine a common threat to their very existence. So they find common cause in opposing him. Some call him Anarchist who is out to destroy the prevailing system of governance and doesn’t believe in rule of law. Others call him Fascist who wants to rule by force and establish his own rules.
No one exploited the term ‘Aam Aadmi’ as skilfully as Arvind Kejriwal has done. It’s not for first time the term ‘meaning common man’ was used. ‘Aam Aadmi’ is a Urdu word and Urdu relates to Muslims. In a country with Hindu majority no one dared to use this word in naming their party. But Arvind Kejriwal has no such notions. He doesn’t believe in class, language and cultural distinctions. In his view all are Indians and have a common cause in fighting ‘Khaas Aadmi’. Jan Sangh, Janta Dal, Bhartiya Janta Dal, Lok Dal are the party names to show that they belong to common man but none of them gave common man the kind of role Arvind Kejriwal has promised to give. No one made the kind of promises which Kejriwal made. That has stunned all. How can a person with no political background make such promises and run away with valuable assembly seats with no responsibility to fulfil the promises made in the election.
Aam Aadmi Party emerged second largest party. Congress stood badly mauled as its mass base was badly eroded and went to AAP. B.J.P. too was stunned as it was run out of wicket by AAP. So, for first time in history both B.J.P. men & Congressman found common cause and decided to finish the common enemy first before engaging themselves in fight against each other. Thus Arvind Kejriwal was lifted and forcibly made to ascend the throne of Delhi and made to wear crown of thorns. Such an event never happened before. A man not willing to take the responsibility was forced to take the responsibility and asked to fulfil the false promises he made to people. But here too Arvind Kejriwal gave them a slip. He went out of way and gave people free water and cheap electricity without caring about the cost. He is determined to fulfil all the promises he made. Both B.J.P. & Congress wish to see that he fails as C.M. of Delhi. His success would further erode credibility of B.J.P. & Congress.
B.J.P. realises that Arvind Kejriwal is making common cause with people and striking right Note in their mind. Their vote bank stands punctured now as can be seen in Delhi. The threat is so common that not just one but all parties feel threatened by it. Congress suffered the most because of anti-incumbency. It ruled Delhi for 15 years and this time it was B.J.P. ‘s turn to come to power. Aam Aadmi Party spoiled their game plan. The message goes, ‘Arvind Kejriwal can be biggest game spoiler in 2014-Parliamentary Election’.
There is a section among people which dislikes all parties. In their views all are CHOR [thieves] and they don’t want to go and vote for another CHOR. In their eyes Arvind Kejriwal is one of them and represents their views. It is this section of people which will go to polling booth for the first time and vote for Aam Aadmi Party and tilt the scale in favour of later.
Just before counting of votes started I predicted that Arvind Kejriwal is future chief minister and prime minister of India. I too failed to see it would be so soon. No one gave AAP more than 12 seats. By capturing 28 seats it has stunned all and no one will be surprised if Arvind Kejriwal is forced to form government at centre. If that happens that will be biggest news of the century.
